Style 1: Single Colours

FiberHead with 360° Precision Bearing

The FiberHead is an essential component of the PixelWhip 4. It connects the optical fibres to the handle and is designed to help the fibres move smoothly while optimising light transmission.

An integrated precision bearing enables smooth 360° rotation, allowing the fibre bundle to turn freely during movement. This supports a more natural flow, particularly during rotations, transitions, and more complex flow-art techniques.

The aluminium housing can be unscrewed without tools, making the FiberHead easy to remove for transport, storage, or replacement.

Rounded Kink Protection

The FiberHead features carefully shaped, rounded kink protection. Its design follows the fibres' minimum safe bending radius, allowing them to bend gradually as they emerge from the base. This helps reduce the risk of kinking and breakage near the connection point.

The rounded shape also reflects some of the light, giving the base a distinctive appearance.

Efficient Light Transmission

The distance between the LED and the fibre plug is precisely calibrated to transfer light into the fibres as efficiently as possible. The bottom of the fibre bundle is precision-polished to reduce light loss caused by rough surfaces.

This helps direct as much light as possible into the fibres, producing bright points of light along the whip.

The fibre bundle is attached to the fibre plug using a specialised, strong adhesive designed to withstand the forces generated by a variety of movements.

High-Quality Optical Fibres

Their smooth surfaces allow them to glide easily against one another. If the fibres become tangled during play, they can generally be separated without difficulty.

Precisely Cut for a Flowing Light Effect

The fibres are not all the same length. They are cut according to a precise pattern, with successive fibres differing in length by approximately 2 cm. This creates a gradual distribution of light points throughout the whip.

The shorter fibres start close to the base, while the longer fibres extend further out. The longest fibres add volume and brightness to the tip of the bundle.

This arrangement creates the PixelWhip's characteristic appearance: a broad, flowing fan of light rather than a single compact beam.

Pre-Treated with Silicone Lubricant

The fibres are pre-treated with a high-quality silicone-based lubricant. This helps them glide smoothly against one another, reducing snagging and tangling during use.

The lubricant is selected to protect the fibres' reflective coating. For maintenance, a suitable silicone-based lubricant is recommended. Other lubricants may make the fibres sticky or damage their coating.

Why No Side-Sparkle Fibres?

The PixelWhip 4 deliberately does not use so-called Side-Sparkle fibres. This type of fibre has small notches cut into its surface to create additional light reflections. According to the manufacturer, these modifications can create weak points that make the fibres more susceptible to breakage during use.

The standard fibres are therefore designed to provide a good balance of light output, flexibility, and durability.

Comfortable Handle

The PixelWhip 4 comes with a handle made from padded foam rubber. This material provides a comfortable grip during longer practice sessions and performances.

The controls are located on the handle and operated using a single button, allowing you to cycle easily through the colour patterns. The design helps prevent accidental colour changes, while keeping the button easy to find in the dark.

Rechargeable Battery and Improved Electronics

The PixelWhip 4 runs on a single protected 18650 Li-ion battery. The battery and USB charger are included.

The updated electronics are designed to keep the LEDs shining brightly during use, rather than gradually dimming as the battery runs low. The rechargeable battery is also a practical solution for regular use without the need for disposable batteries.
