Development of the Armageddon

The Armageddon was conceived at the end of 2024, when player Yahoo (Hy Dang) suggested creating a yoyo even wider than the Ultracut. This would make it easier to perform tricks involving large movements and zoning

After discussions with the player and production team, the goal became finding the perfect balance between size and playability: about 57 mm in diameter and 53 mm wide. Large enough to feel stable and easy to use, but not too bulky for technical tricks

Design Choices

• V-profile: maximises speed and acceleration
• Convex parabolic hub: optimises weight distribution around the axle
• Rim design: thick, evenly distributed rims thanks to 7068 aluminium → powerful yet comfortable

From Prototype to Final Version

• Prototype 1: Fast, powerful, and user-friendly, but the rims felt too sharp
• Prototype 2: Rounded rims + added weight (66.6 g) and tested 7075 material. Comfortable, but less powerful and stable → not chosen
• Prototype 3: Returned to 7068 with thinner walls and thicker rims. Weight: 66.1 g. Result: more power, speed, and comfort → chosen for production

Name Inspiration

The name Armageddon is inspired by the K-pop group Aespa. Their song Armageddon features the line “I’ma get ‘em done”, which reflects YoYoFriends’ philosophy:
